Organization: Piedmont Health Services Inc (PHS) – Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Population Served: Of the current PHS patients, 50% are uninsured, 26% are on Medicaid, and 98% of those applying for sliding fee live at 200% below the Federal Poverty level.

Grant Type: Marketing Video Grant.

Project Goal: PHS would like to create a video to commemorate its upcoming 50th anniversary. The video will be used to showcase the influence the 340B program has had on its patients and on the community. Following the initial celebration video, the video will then further be used as an educational tool for multiple audiences.

How 340B has impacted their community: With half of PHS patients uninsured, the 340B program is absolutely a financial lifeline for many of these people. With 168,359 self-pay prescriptions dispensed in 2018, 340B can be the difference between health and illness. From children with asthma to adults with chronic conditions– 340B makes treating them, among so many others, possible.
