Organization: Community Health Centers of the Central Coast – Santa Maria, California.
Project: Creating Access: Healthy Mind & Body.
Problem: Families in the local community of Santa Maria are encountering anxiety and depression due to food insecurities. This has impacted the entity’s patients, particularly the agricultural workers and homeless families of the area. The rise in depression has also resulted in affected individuals not seeking support – due to the perceived stigma surrounding mental health.
Solution: The designated grant funds will be used to purchase a vehicle to deliver food and other basic needs to special populations (homeless, low-income, public housing, farm laborers). This is especially important, as the affected populations are unlikely to seek help in public, due to mental health conditions or lack of transportation. The entity will also provide mental health assistance for those affected.
Capture Cares is committed to continuing with its efforts to enable the missions of covered entities.
